Nevis Television grew out of the Press and Public Relations Unit in the Premier's Ministry, established in 2001 to make the people of Nevis aware of the work of the Nevis Island Administration. Its first major production was the Nevis Newscast (NNC), launched in November 2000.
Over the years the Newscast became a daily fixture in the lives of Nevisians, with three core programme types: news, interviews and features, and ceremonies. From its brand name Nevis Television (NTv), the station began broadcasting on weekdays from as early as 2004. Today the NNC airs weeknights at 7:30 PM on Digicel Play Channel 99, FLOW TV 103, and online.
As demand grew, NTv embarked on online programming, making the station available internationally as well as on internet-based devices. In 2017 Nevis Television became a 24-hour broadcasting service.
The goal of Nevis Television is to keep Nevisians at home and in the diaspora aware of the plans, programmes and activities of the Nevis Island Administration, and to provide quality programming that enhances the social, moral and cultural life of our audience.
